Plan your first training session
Create one scheduled team session, build its complete plan, and prepare the information your staff and players need before and after training.
What you will achieve:
Schedule a team training session
Build a timed plan using drills, tactics, and placeholders
Prepare attendance, notes, PDF output, and a reusable template
)
1. Create the session
Open Training sessions > Team sessions.
Click the action to create a new session.
Select the team.
Enter the date, start time, and end time.
Add a title, location, training focus, and intensity where useful.
Click Save.
The session also appears automatically in the Calendar.
)
1b. Create a training phase for a block of sessions
If you are planning several related team sessions, use Training sessions > Training phases instead of creating every session separately.
Create a phase, select the team, and set the phase title and date range.
Add the training days and their times.
Choose Recurring when sessions repeat on the same weekday and time throughout the phase—for example, every Tuesday and Thursday.
Turn recurrence off when dates or times vary from week to week, then add each session day individually.
Save the phase.
A training phase creates the linked sessions for the selected period in one step. Use it to plan a consistent training block while still opening and planning each individual session later.
)
2. Open the planner
Open the new session and select the planning area. The planner can contain:
drills from the Library;
tactics;
placeholders for activities that do not need a full content record; and
notes attached to individual plan items.
)
3. Build the plan
Add a drill.
Add a tactic if it supports the session objective.
Add a placeholder for the warm-up, break, team talk, or another simple block.
Set the duration of each item.
Reorder the items into the intended sequence.
Review the planned duration against the scheduled session time.
Use Preview to inspect a drill without leaving the plan. Add coaching notes where staff need session-specific instructions.
)
4. Prepare attendance and notes
Open Attendance to review the player list and record available statuses. Use the session notes area for information before or after training.
Attendance checks can also be sent by email when that workflow is configured, but sending messages is optional and should be reviewed before confirmation.
)
5. Create the session PDF
Open the PDF action, choose the layout and content sections, preview the result, and download it if you need a printed or offline plan.
)
6. Save the plan as a template
Use the session action to save the completed plan as a reusable template. Future sessions can import a plan from another session or template instead of starting from an empty planner.
)
7. Complete the post-session data
After training, update attendance, add final notes, and enter player performance ratings if your club uses them. These records contribute to player and team histories.
How this connects
The session appears in the Calendar. Its attendance and ratings feed player histories and Training Analysis. Its plan continues to reference the original drills and tactics.
You are finished when:
The session appears in Team sessions and the Calendar.
The plan contains timed items in the correct order.
You can open Attendance, Notes, PDF, and template actions.
